Last Call.....

We've had an overwhelming response to Robert Sanders' exhibit "For Love of Woman" and many have requested another opportunity to view his solo show and catch a final glimpse of the art.

Robert will be at the gallery (Beatnik, 17th at Broadway, Sacramento) this Saturday Afternoon (Sept 24th) from 1:00-4:00 pm to personally share his vision and his stories, as you visually embrace the splendor of woman.

For those of you who would like to bid on any of the artwork which benefits ...the National Ovarian Cancer Coalitoin, this is the perfect opportunity for you to decide which ones are your favorite before the on-line auction ends on Wed Sept 28 at Midnight.

The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) is fighting to break the silence on Ovarian Cancer, which is the deadliest of all cancers affecting woman today because of it's difficutly in detection before it reaches stage 3 or 4.

September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness month and we appreciate your support in helping the NOCC not only raise awareness, but eventually find a cure.

a silent energy...

.... Women are connected by an umbilical that men cannot understand, see, or even comprehend; but we can sense it. The membrane of silent energy shared only within the feminine rule, is a unique macraméd net of magical awareness from which an unbelievable procreative power, survival awareness, reverberates universally.

Shared Burdens Among Strangers

.....emerged to be rather iconic once the shots were in the camera, I realized I had her dragging a long black drape, her salvation in the desert scorch.

Randy Newman would be proud....

"Go over there and turn on the light...no, all the lights. Raise your arms up in to the air...shake'em. Suspicious minds are talking, trying to tear us apart."

Do as I Say...Not as I Do

.....But this photograph was about so much more than that, a symbol of the 'double speak', and 'double standard' that has plagued women since the dawn of time.

Inspiration through the hourglass' sands of time

....the lines of the human form captured here, like perfect sand dunes in the Sahara, this photo embraces the sensual madness influencing the genius of the craftsmen as they meld the shapes of magnificent performance with absolute grace.

Love....the tie that unites us all

..... As mothers, or sisters, friends, or misunderstood enemies, lovers, or acquaintances passing through a portal of pleasure for an instant in time, love is their wound chord of gracious commonality. Love is 'Union'.

olly, olly oxen free......

.....hypocritical contempt riddled with human judgment, makes me giggle inside my creative well as the scriptures are adamant about only God may judge his people.

A little peek into our innermost primal core...

.... It has been more shocking to everyone who views my body of work than any other image, simply because it touches a core in everyone. It is primitive. It is extremely 'Primal'.

So what's "your" favorite color?

..... Sometimes serendipity moves into the creative equation and everything, or something, 'magically' happens.

Another nibble to whet your appetite....

.... Nothing has been tainted, she is flawless by design, and socially acceptable as long as no one uncoils the truth. Asymmetrical thinking is never permitted here, social perspective flawed by a very shallow depth of field, all safe as long as no one finds the loose ends.

Your first nibble.....

....Whether a relationship, job, life itself, fear, whatever the object of despair, sometimes catastrophe disrupts life, sometimes it creates a new resolve. But not for anyone who still has their head on though, but rather a silly solution for people who might come from Planet Claire.

A Little Taste of What's to Come.....

Each of the 36 pieces in the exhibit have a story which will unfold right before your eyes, hanging alongside each image when the show opens on Friday, Aug 26th.  You'll be able to read about the artist's preconceived vision, the artist's discoveries along the way, learn a little about some of the models, and the story that unfolded with each finished piece.

During this final week leading up to the show's opening, I will be sharing some of the stories behind the images to be exhibited in the show....just a few words from the artist himself....Check back frequently to get a little taste of what's to come.

The Artist's Inspiration

“The inspiration for the show “For Love of Woman” comes from all of the years of life I've shared with women:  observing, partnering, mating, conversing, hating, laughing and above all, loving them.. The images are a combination of visceral inspiration, subliminally perpetuated, imagination infused, along with the models/women who offer up their brilliant creative energy in constructing my motivations.  I love women, I love everything about them, but above all, I respect the extremely important power they are given at birth: born mothers.  My entire life, I have been challenged by so many female powers and the female magic that men will never understand, especially her super sixth-sense…. fortitude.  I appreciate the ever so wonderful female 'presence'.  No matter her size or shape, she is woman and belongs to a sorority of like-beings that are perpetuated by procreation. They are mothers, whether they ever give birth or not, and they are solely qualified, unique and possess longevity.  Men may have the key that links the creative process, but it is women who are the gate-keeper, the door-person, the drawbridge, spirit of the castle's womb, nurturing agent, life support system, and finally, the messenger. I love woman.”

Info About the Show

We are thrilled to announce that the First Prize Winner of Beatnik Studios Fine Art Competition this past February, Robert R Sanders, will be exhibiting his remarkable photographic talents in his Solo Show, entitled “For Love of Woman”, opening August, 26th.  Robert is a brilliant photographic visionary who has mentored thousands of photographers during his more than 30 year professional photographic career in commercial, fine art and portraiture.

Robert has put together a photographic expose that invites the audience to visually embrace the splendor of all women.  Each piece in the exhibit tells a unique story, highlighting the individual beauty of woman, their triumphs, the burdens they carry, the sacrifice they endure, and their unique strength.

As an artist who believes in giving back to the community, he has partnered with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC), to hold a benefit auction for his artwork at this very special show, helping to unmask the truth about ovarian cancer, raise awareness about the disease and find a cure.  The silent auction will continue through the end of September while Robert’s work is on exhibit at the gallery.  Bids can be placed at the gallery or on-line at www.ForLoveofWoman.com.  Winning bids will be notified on Sept 30.

Join us Friday Night, August 26 at 7:00 pm for the Opening Night & Artist Reception with music provided by DJ Debauch.
